Maybe I should play the number 26 in something

Because I am that much of a dork, I am excited about this. Not only is Leopard coming out on October 26th, which is soon, but I am also happy that it is the day after my 26th birthday.

  1. …Not that there’s anything wrong with being an Apple geek.
I’m excited too, but I’m gonna wait until my school can get it for $79 before I take the plunge, and since I’m on an old PowerPC PB, I want to make sure everything’s hunkydory before I get it.

Good idea. Wish my school offered that.

Well, I don’t know what my school’s going to charge. The educational discounts only seem to be 10% now, although older versions of OS X sold for $79. There are reports of it only going for $116 now, the same as on the website.
If you feel like waiting, I’ll find out how much it costs and I’ll pick you up a copy 🙂

Okay, I was kind of wondering who made the other post hehe.
The email I received from Apple the other day said $116 for the educational price. But I know some schools will have lower prices on software if you buy it through the school, so I thought that’s what you were talking about.
Thanks for offering to get me the discount! But actually, if you go here http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/asin/B000FK88JK/ref=nosim/geekculture-20 it’s even cheaper than the student discount. It’s $109 and free shipping.
Apple seems to be reducing the discount. They used to offer $100 the iMacs and now it’s $50. Oh well.

Yeah, it kinda sucks. I guess I can’t blame them for wanting a profit. I just wish they gave a better idea of what they were planning to charge, instead of “maaaaybe $116, maaaaybe $79 (snicker snicker).”
What programs do you use to record music?

Right now I’m using mostly Cubase LE… trying out Ableton Lite 6 but there are some restrictions on there that I don’t like… gonna eventually use Garageband when I can afford to buy a new iMac… got a friend who is gonna get me a copy of Acid Pro Lite, too… I’m not rich enough for the fancier software nor do I think I really need those at this point.
Cubase LE is pretty basic but good enough for what I do need to do 🙂 Eventually, I’ll want something more though I’m sure.
    So how’s school treating you?
