Why is filtering out the word “online”?

Original entry:

I have noticed this the past couple of days when using

In messages I’ve received from people and in messages I’ve sent, when we’ve tried to write the word “online” it comes up as dots. So, I have to space out the word o n l i n e or else it will show up as “..”

For example:

“I couldn’t go o n l i n e today because the power in my house went out.”

This would show up as

“I couldn’t go .. today because the power in my house went out.”

WHY IS IT DOING THIS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!!?

Does myspace have a glitch or does it think that o n l i n e is a dirty word? I’ve had people write curse/cuss words to me and it didn’t have the dots.

EDIT: MySpace fixed this. I don’t know if it was a coincidence or if it’s because a lot of people I knew wrote a bunch of complaints. But it’s fixed 🙂

Unrecognized Phone Numbers

Original entry:

I get calls here and there from numbers I don’t recognize and they don’t leave a voice mail. But this has been happening a lot over the past couple months. And it’s not just one number calling over and over, it’s several. Due to the fact that my phone number seems to fall into the wrong hands sometimes, I don’t answer the phone if I don’t recognize the number. But, all you have to do is leave a voicemail!

If I change my number, call from work, or have to borrow a friend’s phone, etc. I know that chances are the person I’m calling isn’t going to answer. But what do I do? I leave a voice message so they know that I’m not a weird person or creditor calling. Usually, that person ends up calling me right back if they are available. You see how easily that works?

Also, please do not hit *67 before you call. I won’t answer Restricted calls. Why would you do that? Either you are pranking me and don’t want me to know who you are; Or if you’re not pranking me and it is a normal call, then I would find out after I answer who you are anyway.

I know you can just find out phone numbers in the phone book by typing the number into google. But if you’re not in the phone book, you won’t come up in the search. So, most cell phone numbers aren’t searchable this way. Also, several of the numbers are hotels and this doesn’t help much to tell me who you are.

Talking Head club in Baltimore closing down

Original entry:

I knew the Talking Head was closed. But I heard different stories other than what’s in this City Paper article. I heard most often that it was being torn down to build apartments. Some people said the city forced the owner to shut it down to build the apartments. Other people said that he was offered a bunch of money to close it down so that another company could turn it into apartments and charge high rent.

It just goes to show how you never really know what’s going on for sure.

iPhone is coming!

Original entry and comments:

Apple is finally coming out with a PHONE! YAYYYYYYY. It even has safari browser. I mean this looks even better than I expected for just a cell phone. The interface seems very similar to the OSX for the Apple COMPUTERS. The software looks way more advanced than the ipod’s. I can’t wait to find out more.
