Music Johnny Cash "Ghost Riders in the Sky"/"Hurt"/"One"

Hope everyone had a good xmas or any other holidays that you celebrate. I had a really good Xmas. I spent a lot of good quality time with my step dad in DC.

I’m on my way out to see To A Science at the Vault. And then afterwards, I’ll go see the Colouring Lesson Reunion Show! If time permits, of course.

You secretly wanna bang P. Exeter Blue I. Yeah,
he’s Cher’s son, in case you didn’t know,
making him REALLY rich. You like that. He’s the
singer, his color is dark blue, and his real
name is Elijah. Listen to Deadsy. Now.

what deadsy member do you secretly wanna bang?

It was kinda funny when I was watching "The Simple Life" (shut up!) the other night. And Nicole Richie was wearing a Deadsy shirt. Daughter of a famous male singer wearing the band shirt of a son of a famous female singer. Well, at least Elijah actually is doing something and deserves his "fame". 😉

So the last week and a half has been amazing for the band. We finished recording the CD! And the Monday night Noise in the Basement show was even cooler than I expected. Great Mutant Skywheel, Slowloader, and Mustang Pleasure Club all rule! And the crowd was great! Matt Davis is super cool for putting this whole thing together every week. And then we found out on Tuesday that we are band of the month! Woo hoo! I don’t know how the hell that happened. But they are going to put commercials about us on the air for the month, put us on the 98 Rock and Fletchers sites for a month, and we get featured in Baltimore Beat magazine. Oh yeah, and they’re hooking us up with an opening spot for a national band! Kev and I got cut out of the pic on the Fletchers site. Blah, oh well. I guess we gets no love haha. Only kidding… And Sunday at 6 PM we are going to be interviewed on the air with Matt.
Saturday night we played the Eat Your Neighbors Christmas Pagaent. Those things are always a blast.
Wednesday night I saw Mindless Self Indulgence again. They are just crazily adorable.

Well, my ’99 Blueberry iMac crashed a few nights ago. And I could not get it to start up again no matter what I did and with the tech support I got. So, I decided to get a new one. I’m brokety broke but I’m one of those people who "needs" a comp. And my new eMac totally rules!

We went to the studio this weekend and finished recording the disc. I’m so excited for this to finally come out and for the CD Release party! (Saturday, January 17 at Recher Theatre with Another Lincoln, Halfway Broken, and Leafless! All Ages, $5) Brad and Bryan are going to be on 98 Rock’s Noise in the Basement with Matt Davis around 11 tonight. And then we’re playing Fletchers tomorrow/Monday with Great Mutant Skywheel, Slowloader, and Mustang Pleasure Club!!!!

I was a judge (battle of the bands)

Music Linkin Park "Somewhere I Belong"

Monday, I was a judge at the Towson University Battle of the Bands. I’m very opinionated but it’s still kinda hard – being in a band myself and having played in a battle of the bands – to give bands points, knowing your decision will effect who wins. It was cool though. The bands were outstanding! All put on great performances. Halfway Broken won! I think that’s really cool. I was really impressed with Phatback, too. They were a four piece – Vocals, Keys, Guitars, Drums. They had a very Philly/Okay Player type style, which is very different for our scene in Baltimore. The vocals, lyrics, and music were all awesome. Adelphi had really tight vocals/harmonies and a ton of energy on stage. I met some really cool people that night as well and got to chill with Sydney, Fil, and Greg.

Last night… Tim Kaye at the Talking Head! If you haven’t seen him play – either solo or with his band, you really don’t know what you’re missing. Seriously. He’s an amazing singer/pianist/guitarist. I got to hang out with the Aarons, Syeira, Bryan, and glittaChris.

Well, I’ve been pretty sick the past couple of weeks. I am feeling a lot better, though still sick. I don’t care about that or the fact that it’s snowing, I’m going out tonight! If anyone’s going to see Bleak December at Recher Theatre tonight, I’ll see you there. And before hand, I’m going to MissionSpace’s Art opening party.
